Prayer Guide for a Solemn Assembly Joel 2:15

We gather tonight believing God’s call to corporate prayer as a necessary element in a time of crisis. In view of the current condition of our nation corporate prayer is not an option. God’s reason to call a “solemn assembly” is to call us to embrace wholeheartedness (full agreement with His heart) through the tearing of the heart. The prophet Joel declared that if God’s people would gather together with fasting, weeping, and morning, turning to Him for mercy, that perhaps He would relent form bring harm and instead would bring revival to the land (Joel 2: 12-17). The Lord has left it to us to decide whether or not we want judgment or mercy. Even now God is looking for people to build up a wall of defense around this city through prayer (Ezekiel 22:30). One man is not enough to save a city from devastation, so let it be said that God found a people who stood in the gap for DFW (Ezekiel 14:13-14: Genesis18:16-32).
